camera workshop 1

 Workshop 1

During this production we will be using BlackMagic 4k Mini URSA to film our sequence. When we hand over the camera, we will be saying 'yours' and 'mine' while we hand in the camera. For example, when I am giving the camera to my team members, I need to say 'yours' to make sure who am I hand in to and when my team member says 'mine', this suggests that she is taking over the camera.

While we filming the sequence, we need to make sure that we are on the right level or angle in order to present a good image. Tripod is for changing the height of the camera. At the bottom of the stand there are three point, we can change the height by losing it and tie up. In the middle of the stand there are three same point we can use.

There is a hand hold stick help us to move the camera.
On the right side of the stand there is a place where we can turn the hand hold stick on.

After setting up the tripod stand, we need to set the camera onto the tripod. By setting up the camera, we need to be careful that where we put the camera is clear. At the bottom of the camera, the shape should fit in the top of the stand. Press the button on the left, so the camera can slide in. When the camera fits in, then on the right side of the stand there is a button for us to turn, therefore to tie up the camera.
After we set up we should give the camera a shake, to double check that it is still.
We should be very careful while we set up the camera, it had fit in both side.
After setting up the camera, we need to check the spirit level.

Under the camera, on the tripod stand there is a yellow circle, that is where we can check the spirit level. We change the spirit level by loosing the head of the stand so make sure that the small circle is inside the black circle, therefore that the camera and the tripod stand is leveled. The position of the camera is right.

Making sure everything is tied and the spirit level is right, we then need to turn on the camera and before we start shooting, we should check if the camera is focus.

Then we should put the battery on. Where we put the camera is at the back. At the back of the battery there is a V shape which slide in fit on the camera

On the camera there are two roll, the front one is for zoom in and out. The second one is for focus. Zoom in the camera to the maximum and focus the details, therefore when we zoom out everything is sharply focused.

If we are shooting indoor we need to make sure the camera is set as indoor as well. The colours would be effected if the set is not match, for example the camera is set as indoor shooting, when the camera shoot outdoor the colour would be weird and blue.

On the camera, there is a blue button where we can change the exposure. This is for balance the exposure, in order to make sure the lighting in the scene is well presented.
Moving the button up is making the image darker and lower is for brighter image.
